Dennis Garrett

Dennis Garrett

This is Hambone. He probably started the whole Horseshoe tradition and should probably be in the history section. Ham is the best Horseshoe pitcher at the End of the Pavement. It's nothing unusual for him to throw double ringers. His shoe flips perfectly before sliding in to the stob. When people see his blazer coming, they all say "Here comes Ham!" He has many friends and is well known around Union County.

Hambone

Hambone is more than a Horseshoe player. He is a master carpenter with many years experience. When asked why so many people want him to build their houses, he says he uses lots of nails! It also has something to do with his outgoing personality. He has a great sense of humor and a really big heart. Ham is a man of his word. He is a hard worker, putting many hours into his business. Hambone is also a devoted husband to his lovely wife, Barbara.

Hambone with long hair!

This photo of Hambone was taken around 1979 or 80. Ham has lived in Union County all of his life. He really adds a feeling of excitement to any get together. Ham won't give anyone a chance to get bored. He has a really unique party yell. It sounds just like a bull. Ham can be a big flirt. All of the women love him. He may make women feel special, but he always makes it home at night!

Ham and Barbara

Here is Ham and Barbara a few years back. He really found a good thing when he met Barbara. She is the best thing that ever happened to Ham. Barbara and Ham make a perfect couple. They live nearby and have many loved ones in Union County.
