Mr. Lee Payne

Lee Payne & Family

Mr. Payne was born on Dec.7, 1921.  He has had a long and varied career. Mr. Payne worked on a farm and for the Civilian Conversation Corps in his younger days.  In the 1940's he worked at a sawmill.  Then he worked in town at Rogers Grocery Store.  After that, Mr. Payne worked at Kelly Brothers Lumber then at Wilco Farms for 21 years! He was employed by the county for four years. After he turned 55, he worked as an older American for the Forest Service. Later he helped George Upchurch at Mt. Brook Nursery. He finally retired in August 2004 at age 83!

Lee and James

 

 

James Payne is Lee's son. He has lived near the End of the Pavement all of his life.  He plays Horseshoes and likes to fish and hunt. he also plays the guitar.

This is a recent photo of James. He can entertain a crowd with his jokes and musical abilities. Go James!

Linda and Lee

 

 

Here is Lee and his daughter, Linda.  Linda has a beautiful voice and can sing like a professional.  If you ever get to here her perform, count yourself blessed!
